Our Story
The Sahtu Support Association was born out of a deep need in the Sahtu region of the Northwest Territories. Communities here have faced generations of trauma, addiction struggles, and limited access to healing resources. The founders—driven by compassion, creativity, and cultural pride—envisioned a safe place where people could heal, reconnect with their roots, and find belonging again.

The SSA is more than a facility. It’s a movement of healing, cultural pride, and resilience. Its story is about transforming pain into strength, reclaiming traditions, and empowering individuals so that the entire Sahtu region thrives—spiritually, mentally, and communally.
