Hello, my name is Delany Harley Rogers. I am from Norman Wells, NT. My parents are Jolean Harley and Arnold Manual.

I have been around alcohol all my life. Growing up I thought it was normal and that was what life was. Becoming older, I started to notice that is not true. The way I abused alcohol was not normal. I don’t want the future generations to think the same way I did.

I was someone who was hurting and in pain. There are a lot of people in the Sahtu, and around me, who feel the same way that I have.

I am now 2 years sober. I want to show people there is another way, a better way. You don’t have to be stuck in the same pattern of drinking your life away.

Me and my husband started The Sahtu Support Association to show people the love and support of a community to help heal from trauma and old scars. To heal for our youth and future generations alike.
